Operating Engineers 324 endorse Tim Greimel in 11th Congressional District race

LANSING – Operating Engineers 324 today announced their endorsement of state Rep. Tim Greimel (D-Auburn Hills) to serve as the next U.S. Representative from Michigan’s 11th Congressional District.

“Operating Engineers 324 is proud to endorse Tim Greimel as the next congressman for the 11th District because working men and women can count on Tim being a tireless advocate on their behalf in the halls of Congress,” said Douglas W. Stockwell, Operating Engineers 324 Business Manager and General Vice-President. “During his time serving in the Michigan Legislature, Tim Greimel has stood up for working families at every turn, supporting Michigan’s skilled trades and the men and women who work hard every day to build and repair our state’s roads, bridges and schools.”

Established in 1906, OE324 has played a central role in building, operating and maintaining Michigan’s industrial infrastructure. OE324’s more than 14,000 members are the most highly trained, certified and experienced experts in the construction industry.

OE324 represents the highly skilled workers who run the heavy machinery that propels construction on the roads, bridges, buildings, energy plants, pipelines, airports and nearly every large-scale project in the state. Membership is also comprised of the highly skilled Stationary Engineers who operate and tend complex boiler and HVAC systems throughout the state, as well as the trained technicians who fix and repair this grand equipment and keep downtime to a minimum.

“Throughout my time in the Legislature, I’ve stood shoulder to shoulder with the Operating Engineers to protect prevailing wage and ensure all Michiganders have a shot to reach the middle-class dream,” said Greimel. “I’m honored to have their support, and look forward to continuing to fight with them for working people.”

OE324 members are also on the forefront of technology, operating next-generation tools like robotic and remote controlled machines and drones.

From Marquette to Monroe and all points in between, OE324 serves the entire State of Michigan – yesterday, today and far into the future.
